I have extensive experience teaching children of all ages, temperaments and learning styles.

Hi! My name is Paul Sarafin. I’m a musician with an equal passion for education. I have been formally trained in both fields, with separate bachelor’s degrees in both Music -AND- Education.

In the spring of 2002 I graduated with a degree in music (George Fox University) and returned home to Anchorage, AK — with no plan! Teaching in the public schools was the only opportunity, but, much to my delight, I there discovered how much I loved to teach! In the public setting, I was as a general classroom, music and special education teacher.

For 20 years I have owned the teaching studio Sarafin Guitar. For two decades I have educated a variety of exceptional learners, from the highly gifted to individuals with significant learning challenges. I have extensive experience teaching children and adults of all ages, temperaments and learning styles.

I am a Suzuki Method teacher registered with the Suzuki Association of the Americas, having participated in numerous teacher trainings with the SAA. I was the director of the Alaska Suzuki Guitar Workshop, and has also hosted multiple teacher training events in Alaska.

Most importantly, I see myself as a warm-hearted and patient educator who finds great satisfaction in sharing the gift of music with others!
